“Jordi Savall has invited Tasto Solo, led by renowned organetto player Guillermo Pérez, to perform on the Alia Vox Diversa label. In Eros & Subtilitas, Tasto Solo takes us to 16th century Italy, where there was a frenetic and unprecedented flowering of works devoted exclusively to the language and practice of instruments in parallel with the vocal arts. Starting with the Capricci in Musica by Vincenzo Ruffo, a collection of small, mysterious and fascinating compositions, Tasto Solo brings voices and instruments into dialogue to present refined instrumental fantasies accompanied by passionate love madrigals and virtuoso dances. Works by Vincenzo Ruffo (c. 1510 - 1587), Philippe Verdelot (c. 1480 - c. 1530), Jacques Arcadelt (c. 1507 - 1568), Jhan Gero (c. 1518 - 1553), Domenico Ferrabosco (1513 - 1574), Clement Janequin (c. 1485 - 1558) and anonymous pieces from the Manuscript of Castell’Arquato.
